Backline Passing

Starting position

The basics, and the ones nobody drills enough. Six backs, no defenders, nothing to think about but the pass. The 9 feeds it, then the ball travels down the line: 10, 12, 13, 14, 15. Here is the part that matters — every receiver sits behind his passer, so the line runs forward while the ball goes backward. That offset is what lets you run straight without ever getting in front, and it is the first thing to go once the tempo rises. Use it as a warm-up, at the start of a session, or the moment passes start going flat.
